Guide story: Kymera

My name is Reilly and I started working for Adventure Sports Innovation in June. I’ve been learning to ride all the Personal Transportation Devices, operate Virtual Reality, drive Swincars, and everything else. It’s like an endless buffet of fast technology! In this huge diversity of great experiences, I have a favorite: the Kymeras. The first day I rode a Kymera was grey and windy, but warm. The Tennessee River was choppy and not many people were out, so it was a perfect time to learn.  ASI Water expert Madi and I took two Kymeras, put them together, and did a five-minute lesson on their steering and operation. When she gave me free rein to take off I started having some of the most fun I’ve ever had. The Kymera flies over the waves like a mythical sea serpent. If the water is choppy it’s more exciting; it leaps and bucks as it hits small waves, sometimes almost catching air. We looped around the island and got up to full speed as we passed it, doing huge swooping turns back and forth. The board was responsive and graceful, like a mountain bike on the river—except you just pull the throttle to go!By the time we returned to the dock my cheeks hurt from grinning ear to ear. I felt confident that this is the coolest job ever, and I can recommend the Kymera to anyone as one of the most exhilarating things I’ve ever done. Just another great day with ASI!
