ChattaScooter on the Southside: ASI is delighted to announce our 3rd ChattaScooter location, opened on December 10. The Local Juicery and Kitchen on 48 E. Main Street (about a block from the Choo Choo on the Southside) now hosts a fleet of e-Scooters to rent, which can be dropped-off at any of our other locations around town:

  • Adventure Sports Innovation (ASI) at 191 River Street
  • One Riverside Apartments at 950 Riverside Drive (a block from the Riverwalk, by the Boathouse restaurant).

You can also do the opposite, rent at ASI or Riverside Apartments, and drop off at The Local Juicery and Kitchen.

Join the fun – download the app from Levy Inc. on your phone and create your profile to get started. Then just scan the scooter, grab your helmet, and get scootering! Return to any of our locations to end your rental. Check out our website at www.chattascooter.com for more details.

For the second year, ASI is celebrating the holidays with our Family Adventure Gift Certificate! Inspired by a customer trying to find a family present for his group of teen and adult children, our Family Adventure Certificate starts with a set balance, that family members can draw upon when they come to ASI for any of our 20+experiences. Certificate values start at $250, and  your family gets an extra bonus of 15% of the value at purchase. For example, if you purchase a $300 value Family Certificate, at checkout you pay only $255! The family pack is easy to use, and we can always let you know how much balance remains in your account.

And of course, traditional gift cards for values under $250 are always available, and they never fail to surprise and excite.  A gift card can be a ride on a virtual reality hang glider, an off-road adventure in a Swincar e-Spider, a river ride on a Kymera e-Jet bodyboard, and so much more! Looking for a new way to ride out cold winter days? Book an adventure in the ASI Experience Room! You would never know just from walking by, but through our doors, sitting right below Frasier Avenue is the perfect testing ground for all the latest outdoor mobility tech.

If you know exactly what you want to ride, come on in and get an e-Unicycle lesson from a pro, or challenge a friend to a rousing game of hovershoe hockey! But if you just can’t choose your favorite device, our Introductory Sampler is for you. Book a half hour for yourself, or your group can get the room to yourselves for the whole afternoon, and for the duration of your sampler our staff will teach you how to ride any and all of our gear. Progress at your own pace, choose your favorite device, and perhaps by the end of your experience you’ll be starting a mini-segway basketball league of your own.

If have a few people (between 2 and 6) that need to be entertained, our Glow Games might be what you need:

Once everyone has the ability to ride one of our self-balancing devices, we’ll turn out the lights and let your group choose a game or sport to play in our GLOW environment!   We’ll provide all the safety equipment needed, you only need to bring closed toed shoes and your adventurous spirit!  Our most popular sport is Hover-Hockey; we also have versions of Hover Hoops or GLOW Capture the Flag. Our guides will be there to coach and supervise, and make sure everyone’s having fun.  Pre-requisite:  must have experience riding self-balancing equipment, or have taken an ASI training session.  This experience is purchased in blocks of 30 minutes.

Note: Until we announce otherwise, we’re limiting the ASI experience room to one group at a time, regardless of group size. This helps us to keep our facilities clean and mitigate opportunities for virus transmission between our customers. So call today to book your family’s innovative winter adventure! Giving Tuesday 2020 is December 1st. People around the globe come together in unity and showing kindness and generosity in all its forms by giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and causes.

One Chosen Charity?  Nope, there’s just too many worthy organizations in Chattanooga to pick only one!  Adventure Sports Innovation (ASI) is still a small business with a small budget, but we use our creativity to find ways to give back to the community at every chance we get. We’ve built strong relationships with Chattanooga’s STEM School, other local schools and colleges, and organizations such as Blood Assurance and McKamey Animal Shelter.  We frequently donate adventures or gift certificates to local non-profits for their silent auctions and fund-raising events (too many to list here!).

Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center (RRANC) is one of our favorite community partners and local non-profits.

Having hiked much of their extensive trail system as members, we thought this would be an ideal venue for our guests to test drive the unique Swincar electric off-road vehicle.   After the RRANC team got to try it out, they agreed that the Swincar’s silent operation, light footprint and zero emissions made it a natural fit.

For every Swincar tour, a portion of  the proceeds are donated to  RRANC, which goes toward helping them maintain and conserve one of the most beautiful places Chattanooga has to offer. Arrive early for or stick around after your next Swincar tour to see red wolves, birds of prey, bobcat and more at the native animal exhibit. Or check out their selection of native plants in the nursery.

In fact, if you or your family were impacted by the Easter Sunday tornado, you can pick up free native trees from Reflection Riding to replace trees that you might have lost. This is part of larger effort with the city of Chattanooga to improve water quality, lower energy costs for Chattanooga residents, and maintain the long lifespan of our city’s storm water drainage system. There are only 1000 trees available, so pay our friends a visit while supplies last, and enjoy the last of the fall colors while you’re at it!

So, we’re hoping you will be as generous as possible this Giving Tuesday 2020, and we’d be delighted if our friends and customers remember RRANC when selecting the organization(s) they want to contribute to!

From ASI founders : What we’re thankful for:

There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a challenging and unusual year. Pandemic, tornadoes and hurricanes, wildfires political unrest, business closures and record unemployment – and yet despite all that we have so many things for which to be thankful and grateful.   


Our company: we’re still open and delighting our visitors and guests as we get ready for our 3rd Thanksgiving since opening our doors!


Our staff: who were all furloughed in back in March/April when we had to close our doors, all opted to re-start with us in May, and have been working hard every day. Not only are they amazing Adventure Guides for our guests, but they are mastering a variety of tasks, from marketing to content creation to operations.  And of course, handling an insane amount of cleaning and sanitizing to keep customers and ourselves healthy, always with a smile. 


Our mentors and supporters: The local organizations and individuals that have been supporting us since Adventure Sports Innovation was just a “PowerPoint concept”;  for helping us find additional funding, helping us to network and market, listening to our evolving plans and generally supporting us to keep our doors open and find ways to continue growing (TSBDC, SCORE, City of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Tourism Co., Chamber of Commerce), and thanks to the organizations organizing virtual learning opportunities for our industries, like Arival, Start Up Week, Startup of the year, Amex, IAPPA  and the SBA.


Our Community: Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center where we tour with our Swincars,  multiple local schools like the STEM School, GPS and Silverdale Baptist, the many organizations that have trusted us with their team building events, the entrepreneurial community in Chattanooga, and many more.


Our product partners: who continue to invent and innovate, bringing excitement and a sense of adventure to our mission, and, especially, to those who understand the long term goals of market building. 


Last, but certainly not least, we’re grateful to all of our customers, our professional network, and our family & friends for constant support and encouragement.  We’re extremely grateful, and will do our best to keep giving back with interesting, exciting stories and content, fun adventures and our sense of wonder at the technical marvels we continue to find and explore.
